Here at History House we believe learning is a life-long adventure of discovery and growth. We offer a variety of events and programs intended to help you explore your creativity and learn new techniques and skills. 


Regular Programs

Art Appreciation

TUESDAYS  |  1:00-2:30 PM 

INSTRUCTOR: Sydney Mills

FREE PROGRAM (Donations welcome) 

This workshop series for adults (50+) is a hands-on exploration of the visual arts. Each week participants will enjoy a guided workshop in an artistic discipline such as acrylic or watercolour painting, printmaking, drawing, pastel, collage, and more. Join us for a cup of coffee or tea and nurture your creativity. 

Open Studio

SATURDAYS  |  10:00-11:30 AM

INSTRUCTOR: Heather Coughlan

$12 PER SESSION (or $40.00 per month)  

This is a drop-in program (NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED) 

This workshop series for adults (16+) is a space to explore new mediums, be creative and work alongside other creators. Each week, Heather will lead participants through project-based workshops in a variety of mediums to encourage experimentation with new techniques and processes. 


Accordion Group

MONDAYS  |  7:00-8:30 PM

INSTRUCTOR: Chris Bemister

$12 PER SESSION (or $40.00 per month)  

This is a drop-in program (NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED) 

Open to players at all skill levels, our weekly accordion sessions are a fantastic opportunity to learn a new tune, sharpen your skills, and play alongside friends. 

Knitting Group

MONDAYS  |  6:30-8:00 PM

Open to knitters of all skill levels, the Torbay Knitting Group meets at History House every Monday evening. 

KNITTING GROUP HAS ENDED FOR THE SUMMER AND WILL RESUME IN THE FALL.
